Before I read this interesting short post, I knew Ray is a well known professional copywriter and wrote Million Dollar sales copy for a lot of top marketers. I don't doubt about it. Because it is common sense to every marketers to use social proof to position themselves as an expert in their industry. As a professional copywriter,he should know it more clearly than others. If those top marketers hire him to write their copy. He must be good as others thought. But I just don't know how good he is as a professional copywriter. After reading this post. I got a picture about it in mind. I have to say he is awesome.

To be honest, when this product was launched,I got a lot of promoting email. I didn't click their click to read the sales letter of this product. I even didn't read couple sentences of their promotion email and deleted it. As all of you know, there are a lot of hypes floating on the internet. I just thought this might be another one. But the story which Ray told really catch my eyes and read through all of it and click through right away and start reading the sales letter. After doing this, I thought about the following.

1. Why others' approach didn't attract me but Ray's approach works on me?

2. How It works?

3. What can I learn from his writing skill and approach method?

Because I know if I can figure it out. It will help me improve my writing skill on my blog post to interact with my readers with the right conversion method which my readers love and help me improve my productivity to generate more sales and profits with the same traffic.

Here is what I learned and my thoughts I would like to share with everybody involving this conversation.

1. I found that he didn't just simply promote a product in the post like others did to tell you what a great opportunity it is and what's the benefits you will get. Instead he told a REAL story happened in his REAL life and he do is a good story teller. That make a big difference with others. People don't like to be sold, right? Me too.

2. That story is interesting to catch my eyes. He started "telling two marketers would like to pay a inflated price to hire him to write a sales copy for their workshop." I thought they are marketers in the market. They should know the fair price to write a copy. Why they would like to pay the high rate to hire Ray? They are not dummy, right? On the other side, they must make too much money from their business, What kind of product do they sell and how do they sell? Let me check it out. Maybe I can learn something from them. I have to confess that that simple sentence really create my curiosity and let me keeping on reading it.

3.Then another two sentence "they’re about to throw away $10,000. Maybe to you" popping in my eyes. I know most of the people's emotion will be triggered by that. For me,I won't be shocked by that. I read a lot of sales letter before and even one or two per day right now. And I know there is no free launch in the world. To use prize as marketing campaign to generate leads is an effective way to go. If a fortune 500 company doing this kind of event. There will be nothing new because their sales volume and budget is big enough to cover it. But as a small business, how they can get those prize paid off. That is a big question mark in my mind. It do triggered my emotion of "this might be a new marketing promotion method I can learn, go check it out"

4. Next, "They Even Show You How To Win" drive me keep on reading. Then the answer coming out "it costs $20." I thought" It is so smart approach, create $10000 prize and offer $20 low cost to get people rush to their offer". It generate great desire to every reader and offer great deal every can afford. Great job. But I do know there should be a back end product is waiting there for the buyer to upgrade the next level version. Let me check it out. then I clicking through and start read the sales letter. The blog post create the desire and call to action.The blog post finished its job " driving me to the sales letter". I have to say the $10000 prize really create the buzz to get people talk over the internet and get more and more prospects rush to buy the front end offer and that big prize and low price will increase a lot of the conversion rate. It do is a really smart marketing campaign. This is the first time I have seen to offer prize to the front end product buyers to increase the conversion rate. All of us can learn and apply it from this great marketing case study.

As you can see the AIDA Formula ( Attention, Interest, Desire and Action ) really works. Most of you may already know it. But the key is how we can apply it like Ray did ( Using it smoothly and naturally in a short interesting simple real story ).

After thinking about it, I read the post several times to figure out the advantage of Ray's post. Here are some terms I get for a good Blog post must have for all of you reference. Hope it can help for your business.

1. Unique Fresh Content To Attract Both Readers And Search Engines

2.Valuable Information To Benefits Readers

3.Writing In Simple Plain Language To Delivery Easy To Understand Message

4.Conversion With The Readers As An Old Friends

5.Organized Information To Match Reader’s Thinking Logic

6.Interesting Story Create Fun And Entertainment To Readers

7.Provide Practical Working Case Study To Help Readers

8.Influencing Reader And Win In Their Mind And Heart

9.Build Up Trust Between Writer And Reader

10.Generate Sales And Profits Without Selling

I have to say that Ray did an excellent job to match all the above terms in a short post.

Here are the conclusions I made after reading this short simple interesting post.

1.Ray Edwards Must Be a very brilliant entrepreneur. He tell us an interesting REAL story to generate sales and profits

2.Ray Edwards is really a Professional Copywriter Expert. He really know how to create marketing buzz and help product vendors to pull orders in and turn the visitors into buyers to help increase customer base of business owners.

3.I will write a case study regarding “How To Write An Excellent Blog Post To Catch Your Reader’s Eyes, Hearts As Well As Their Wallet Without Selling But Simply Telling An Interesting Real Simple Short Story” and post it on my blog or add it to my new product.

4.If I need to hire a copywriter for my new product. This gentleman must be the one to be considered really seriously and I would recommend him to all my friends who need a copywriter service.

One more thing, I want to highlight here is I am very glad to see Ray put comment here to help Shalby here even though that slae may not generated from his affiliate link. To help your readers and customers is the key mind set to write a good blog post and build a really business no matter it is online or offline. That's all we need to do.

Finally, Thanks Ray for generate this conversion for us here to learn and share the valuable information each other. I will take more time to join your conversation in the future.

What success did people have with Lead supreme launch, did anyone buy it.

I know one person who has purchased it but not had any feedback from him yet.

I really like that model of having a tool for sale and teaching for free how to do something using it.

@ Ed:
Good idea about not spinning too many plates. :-) I should try that sometime...

@ Steve:
Nope, I didn't compete for the 10G's. And yes, I know that conversions were good... but I can't say any more than that.

Nice pitch. Hope you won the 10 G's.

Any idea how well the $20s converted to $4500s?

Regards.

Wow! Just read thru Dr. Mike's sales page. That sounds like a powerful system.

I'm working on a different model right now, but I'll keep it in mind for when I'm ready to branch out beyond that. Don't want to get too many plates spinning at the same time and be successful at nothing!

Thanks for pointing this out Ray and for your post's example of effective copy!

As we jaunt thru the holidays... Wishing you the best in 2008.

@Shelby:

Sorry you didn't get a chance to try it out. I don't know why you encountered those problems. In my experience, they do a very good job of customer support. I don't doubt your story, understand; but I do think it may have been the exception rather than the rule.

If you can't get resolution from them, please post here and let me know. I'll see what I can do to help. I know that Mike and Howie will want to take care any instance like the one your describe.

@Farhad:

You say "The sales pages are slick(I’ve written a few myself), but to get these systems working needs one hell of a lot of time and money (coal for the furnace)."

Well, it makes sense, doesn't it, that to make money in business takes some of both (time AND money). If you are short on money, you invest more time ("sweat equity"); if you don't have time, but have some cash, you can HIRE people to do the work. That's pretty much universal in business. What these opportunities provide is leverage; that's the power of the Internet. You can get more done, better, faster and cheaper. But the laws of physics still hold true: you don't get something for NOTHING. Can you get something for less (time or money) than you're spending now? Probably. But not for NOTHING.

I wish you all good things!

@ Jay:

Hey man, how are you doing? Call me sometime! Thanks for dropping by the blog.

---

@Elliot:

"I doubt I even have a chance." Elliot... maybe I believe a bigger dream for you than you can believe for yourself right now. But I think you COULD have a chance, if you let yourself. ;-)

@Cheryl, @Paul, @Scott, @Ryan:

Thanks for the comments and compliments!

I received the email about Lead Supreme, went to the website and read the complete sales letter word for word. I was so excited and plopped down my $20 immediately.

Received my link to login and excitedly went to login. Boy was I disappointed. Every time for the next 10 days that I tried to login, I got *Your account is not active.
Please click here to activate it.*

Their support was horrid. I sent 3 requests before I finally received an answer. By then the contest was over and I was still unable to login.

When I did receive an answer I asked for my $20 refunded due to not being able to login. I was told that they would send it to the proper department to expedite my refund. And do you think I ever received it? NO! Nothing more have I heard from them concerning this.

To say that I was extremely disappointed is an understatement. I feel very cheated, because not only was I not able to compete for the $10,000 (not that I would have won it, I'm more realistic than that, but a chance to try would have been nice) the full price of the system completely blew me away. $4500 maybe worth it and some people can afford it, but unfortunately I was not one of them.

I don't like talking bad about anyone, but you would think that their customer support would be better than what my experience with them was. And then not to issue a refund, especially since there was a problem with their site? Yes, I am a little upset, to say the least. Of course, my situation may have been an exception.

Sorry to vent my frustration here. I do apologize.

Lead Supreme today, something else tomorrow. The sales pages are slick(I've written a few myself), but to get these systems working needs one hell of a lot of time and money (coal for the furnace).

Internet marketing gurus are pretty smart, they throw you a tit-bit now and then a few testimonials, but keep the real secrets to themselves.

Buyers make a purchase based on their reputation, but get real how many relly can start to make their "first dollar" within a few minutes of setting up!

I guess these guys really play on the "get me out of poverty, I'm desperate to try out anything" syndrome!

Lead Supreme has too much hype for me. Considering how easy it supposedly is, I doubt I even have a chance.
