How Will You Finish 2013?

Today is October 1. There are precisely 3 months left in the year.

No matter what has happened so far this year, you get to decide how the year ends. You have 90 days to make a strong finish, or to fizzle out.

You already know what you need to do. Or probably more accurate, what you have left undone.

Just like in football (the NFL kind), how you finish the fourth quarter… ss how you finish the game.

Decide now to finish 2013 strong, to post your best 90 days so far this year, and you might be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Here are three things you can do to make the next 90 days your best 90 days of 2013:

  1. Clean up any messes, any open loops, and any “unfinished business”. It might not be easy or pleasant, but getting it done now will make all the difference in how you feel about this year… And how you start the next.
  2. Set one Big Hairy Audacious Goal (“BHAG”) to be achieved on or before December 31. Commit to doing something each day that move you toward that goal.
  3. Get an accountability partner who will “hold your feet to the fire.” Someone who will actually check to see if you did what you said you would do about that goal you set above.

Personally, I have a major product launch to plan, and part of that plan involves finishing a book I'm writing.

What about you? What is your “BHAG” for this final quarter of the year? Click here to post it in the comments below.
