Is Internet Marketing Weird?

While visiting with my Dad this past week, I had to explain (not for the first time) just exactly what it is I do for a living.

The topic gravitated to “what is Internet Marketing”. I realized that Dad thought I meant “any marketing campaign that uses the Internet”.

I had to explain that this was not what I meant.

What I meant was: a group of online marketers who make a living selling information about online marketing to other online marketers (who quite likely sell the same stuff to other online marketers).

Does this seem weird to anyone else but me?
