Is Money The Root Of All Evil?

Those who promote the idea that having money is wrong often quote the Bible as saying, “Money is the root of all evil.”

The only problem with this is… that’s not what it says.

The actual passage being quoted (1 Timothy 6:10) says, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”

The love of money – not money itself.

The way to stay out of the money-love trap is to make sure you don’t put money before God.

As Joseph Prince puts it, “Don’t love money and use people; use money to love people.”

“The way to stay out of the money-love trap is to make sure you don’t put money before God.”

Well said Ray, and Jesus said, in Mathew 6:26…

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Let us be sure we always serve God, and use the money He provides according to His purposes.

Thank you for sharing Ray. Thanks for the reminder that we should put money in its right place and use it to enhance each other’s lives and not to dominate over others.
