I own most of the testing and tracking products available -- I can afford them. Many people can't, and I'm always looking for tools that can be helpful to people just getting started out.

Also, most people just don't do ANY testing and tracking -- even those who can afford it.

By the way... a free set of tools that ROCK are available from Google. Take a look at their Analytics and Optimizer packages.

I am not particularly impressed with Muvar, at any price. A much more sophisticated tool is Kaizentrack (www.kaizentrack.com) although there are also others.

Keep in mind that large companies have VERY elaborate testing systems (they can afford custom software) so you will soon need real horsepower to go up against them. Muvar is far too basic and quickly "homegrown" to suit me.

James indicated that he will sell his new Muvar version for around $250. I'd say that is way overpriced for such a basic product. In fact, I would be reluctant to even pay $100 for something like that. And, time being money, I wouldn't even want to have to set up and play around with it even based on a $50 price. Why not throw that $50 toward something a little more robust that you can grow into?

I strongly suggest anyone wanting real optimization software consider the alternatives, particularly Kaizentrack.
