Magic Salesletter Software
Some people are "rubbed the wrong way" by James Brausch. Be that as it may, I have been testing his copywriting software (and yes, I paid for it, he didn’t give it to me for free) and it seems to… uh… work.
He just released a new version of Muvar (his multivariate testing software). The old version sells for $100 at Muvar.com (do not buy from that URL — read on). For 24 hours you can get the new (2007) version of Muvar for $50. James has offered 24-hour specials in the past and he sticks to the deadline like barnacles stick to battleships.
- I bought mine immediately.
- I am not an affiliate, so I don’t make any money off this deal.
- If you want a copy of the software at the special price, go to James Brausch’s blog about Internet business.

I am not particularly impressed with Muvar, at any price. A much more sophisticated tool is Kaizentrack (www.kaizentrack.com) although there are also others.
Keep in mind that large companies have VERY elaborate testing systems (they can afford custom software) so you will soon need real horsepower to go up against them. Muvar is far too basic and quickly “homegrown” to suit me.
James indicated that he will sell his new Muvar version for around $250. I’d say that is way overpriced for such a basic product. In fact, I would be reluctant to even pay $100 for something like that. And, time being money, I wouldn’t even want to have to set up and play around with it even based on a $50 price. Why not throw that $50 toward something a little more robust that you can grow into?
I strongly suggest anyone wanting real optimization software consider the alternatives, particularly Kaizentrack.
I own most of the testing and tracking products available — I can afford them. Many people can’t, and I’m always looking for tools that can be helpful to people just getting started out.
Also, most people just don’t do ANY testing and tracking — even those who can afford it.
By the way… a free set of tools that ROCK are available from Google. Take a look at their Analytics and Optimizer packages.
