Postcard Profits: 21 Small Business Profit Boosters (#7)

Wow. We’re already up to #7 of our 21 Small Business Profit Booster tactics.

I hope you’re making use of these ideas — feel free to post your success stories if you want. I’d love to read them, and I’m sure others would, too.

Okay… on to today’s Profit Booster: postcard marketing.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective ones. Here’s the scoop…

Send everyone on your list (your prospect list and your customer list) a simple postcard.

The card can say something like, “just wanted to say thank you for being part of my world…” and then offer a link to a special webpage.

I recommend you register a new domain for the special webpage, because you want the address to be short and easy to type. Don’t obsess over the domain name. You can easily find plenty of good ones-for instance, www.ThanksFromBob.com (I suggest using your own name).

So, what’s on this page? Why, a special offer of course. Available only to the people who received your postcard. And of course, to all the people who read your postcard. Because postcards are what’s called “naked mail”-anyone who wants to can read it. That’s why it’s a good idea to put the benefit of the special offer right there on the postcard (“I’m giving you a gift worth $500 at a special webpage…”).

Also don’t obsess about getting the postcards out. You can upload your customer lists and create your postcard copy dirt cheap at www.USPS.com -they’ll even stamp and mail the postcard for you!

So go ahead, send some “naked mail” today, and start watching the profits pour in.

I love the fact that you don't even need to send the postcards out yourself – or really even design them if you don't want to (although I'd advise doing that).

They can also use click2mail.com to send out not only postcards but a wide variety of letters, cards, etc.

Yes, there are a number of good systems out there.

In my experience, it's rarely a lack technology or ideas that stand in the way of our success… it's a lack of action.

        Hey Ray, it's my pleasure…

And, you are absolutely right when pointing out that the “lack of action” is the biggest hurdle to following up and showing gratitude with customers, prospects, etc.

Acting on our promptings can change everything, both personally AND in your business.

We get dozens of promptings per hour coming into our head but unfortunately, they leave our mind just as quickly…in as little as 10 seconds.

How many times have we said to ourselves “oh it's Jane's birthday in 3 days, I better get a card for her”…then before you know what hit you, it's a week after her birthday and you never got the card! Happens all the time…

Therefore, being able to ACT on these promptings, whether it's to say “thank you” to a special client, or simply to tell an associate you appreciate them, is crucial. And, if you are able to take this action quickly, easily & cost-effectively, you will be more likely to do so.

This is where a practical, complete referral marketing system can really make a huge difference for your business, no matter what the business.

Then, and only then, will you start seeing the results of big-time relationship building, and your business (and personal) growth will begin to change for the better in a very big way.

        And so will your finances…

Ray, you rock man. Thanks for allowing me to share my input.

        Happy Referral Marketing…

    Ray,

Great points…and so many marketers miss the simple things that make a huge difference.

Like you Ray, Dan Kennedy, Perry Marshall and other saavy marketers always stress: a total marketing strategy is not just online, or just offline, not just AR’s or direct mail, not just social media or print advertising…it’s made up of lots of different methods.

And, the more methods, the MORE BUSINESS. Sounds simple enough, but not all of us practices this.

Especially when it comes to personal follow-up and a show of thanks. Most businesses neglect this valuable component. We think we always need to be selling & promoting.

Gratitude & appreciation blows away “self-promotion” every time!

Entrepreneurs have been begging for an automated, simple way to stay in touch, follow-up, and show appreciation to the most valuable asset you have–your customers.

    And none existed, until now…

I found a system that automates the entire postcardgreeting card marketing function and takes relationship marketing to a level never before seen.

I just scratched the surface on what this system can do and it ties in nicely with your strategy of postcard marketing.

It’s just hard to describe a good-lookin girl in one paragraph!

    Ray,

Hope you're enjoying the seminar with Armand in Phoenix, thanks for the great updates.

Great tips for an offline marketing component—using postcards and/or greeting cards to reach out to customers.

Like you Ray, Dan Kennedy, Perry Marshall and other saavy marketers always reiterate that a total marketing strategy is not just online, not just offline, not just autoresponders, not just direct mail, not just social media, not just print advertising…it's made up of lots of different methods.

And, the more methods…the MORE BUSINESS. Dan Kennedy just stated this in one of his recent newsletters. THE MORE METHODS, THE MORE BUSINESS!

Sounds simple enough, but not all of us practices this…

Especially when it comes to personal follow-up with a show of gratitude to customers, prospects, partners, mentors. Most businesses simply neglect this valuable component of a marketing strategy.

We think we always need to be selling & promoting. Well, THIS IS SELLING!

Gratitude & appreciation blows away “self-promotion” every time.

Entrepreneurs from all walks of business have been begging for an easy-to-use, yet complete, relationship management system that enables you to stay in touch, follow-up, and show appreciation to the most valuable asset you have–your customers.

    None existed, until now…

This ingenious system automates the entire postcardgreeting card marketing function and takes relationship marketing to a level never before seen.

And, you can do it in a personalized way, in your own handwriting, upload pictures, even add a Starbucks gift card and tons of other neat relationship nurturing ideas that you never would have thought of!

The best part is, you can do it right from your computer and with no minimum numbers of cards required to send (send 1 or 100 in a few clicks). And they print, stuff, stamp & mail it for you.

Imagine waiting to board a plane, you're on your laptop in the waiting area and you get a prompting to say “thank you” to someone who really impressed you at the seminar you just attended…

How cool would it be to have the ability to login to your own personal system, choose a nice card, write a personal message in your own handwriting (even include a picture you took of the person…right on the card) and send it to them through the mail, right from your laptop, in about 60 seconds?

That is the power of relationship marketing!

Ray, I just scratched the surface on what this system can do for anyone's business and it ties in nicely with your strategy of postcard marketing. This system allows anyone to do it automatically, at any time, from anywhere, in about a minute, in a cost-effective manner.

Sorry if I wrote too long, it's just hard to describe a good-lookin girl in one paragraph!

Ray, and thanks for all your great marketing insights. You are a true gem, friend.

    Best,

    Jim
