I've come across so many techniques that claim to be the key to success, all of them seem to make sense, but many involve several steps, that you just lose interest. I find that the most simple advice is the most effective. Single sentences like what Ray suggested...Just get started! Or what my friend Marcus Hochstadt always says...Substitute the word "try" with "do". Nike's famous quib "Just do it" is another example. People who seek success advice are really looking for inspiration and a push. That's why the one-liners work. Thanks for the post. Lilly

Sometimes it's easy to get overwhelmed...(for example after spending a few weeks in the hospital with a sick kid, LOL.). So if you're feeling overwhelmed, try breaking your goals down into smaller sections.

You can do it two ways - my favorite is to start at the end and work your way backwards. Imagine that you've achieved your goal. Then write down the last thing you did before achieving it. And so on and so forth.

Break them down into doable chunks. Then take each step and put it in your calendar. Some things are short term and can be worked on every day. Some can be done once a week, or once a month. Just create a schedule so you're doing something every day to get what you want. That way, not only are you doing the quick "take action and make money now" things, you're also working on your long-term "lifestyle" goals.

Another technique to over come the resting inertia in my behind and get it moving is to recall something that Dr. Phil loves to say:

"Winners are willing to do things,
that losers are not willing to do"

We know that procrastination is a conscience choice not to do something.

So to choose not to take an action that you know you should be doing dooms you to losing.

Taking the action will not guarantee that you will win, it puts you in a position to win.
