#115: Podcast Top 40 Countdown [Podcast]

When I was 14 years old, I was inspired to get into radio because I loved listening to “American Top 40”. It was a countdown show of the 40 most popular songs on the radio each week, hosted by Casey Casum. This week, I’m sharing the top 40 podcasts I listen to, with a little explanation of why you might want to check them out.

I will also identify the podcasts I absolutely do not miss, ever. And I’ll share the 3 very popular podcasts I instantly did NOT like. Plus, here are some additional reasons to keep listening…

  • How to get Jeff Walker’s new book, Launch, for free!
  • An interview with Strategic Living Podcast host Brian Holmes.
  • Contest where you can win our recent $797 training for FREE…

Announcements:

  • If you enjoy the podcast, I would consider it a great favor if you subscribe (and leave a review) in iTunes. This helps new people discover the show. A big thanks to Christopher Reid and Jeff Payne for giving us a review on iTunes this week.
  • We’re holding a contest this month. Out of all the entries, we will draw one winner at random of our $797 training we just completed called, “How to Profit From What You Already Know”. To enter, you need to (1) subscribe to the podcast in iTunes and (2) give us an honest rating. Be sure you either put your website URL in your review, so we can contact you… or email us AFTER you have published your rating. That way if we draw your name we can contact you and let you know you won. You can also enter by leaving us a voicemail (at the bottom of this post, or click here.) We will have the drawing on June 15th.

Tip Of The Week

You can get Jeff Walker’s new book, Launch, for free right now. This is a limited time offer, as he is… er… LAUNCHING his book! You get some very valuable bonus materials just for requesting a free copy. You do have to pay the shipping fee (it’s less than $7.) Click here to get Jeff Walker’s book for free.

  1. Awesome Ray. I look forward to listening to this podcast. I am always looking for podcasts to listen to that are not on my current list. Thanks for providing this!

  2. Here are my never-miss: This is Your Life, The Ray Edwards Show, Smart Passive Income, Your Move by Andy Stanley, Podcast Answer Man

Almost never miss: 48 Days, Entre-Leadership
I will add my own to the list when I launch it soon – Finding Your Groove!

  3. Solopreneur Hour w/ Michael O’Neal; Go For It w/ Tyson Webb; Chris Cerrone Show; Music Radio Creative; New Business Podcast w/ Chris Ducker.

  4. Hi Ray, great show. I really love charts. I found that my list of podcasts is quite similar to yours. I also listen to The Mad Marketing Podcast by Marcus Sheridan and The Professional Content Creation by Rebecca Livermore.
I left my review on iTunes.

  5. Great recommendations. I had several already, but added a few others.
If you like Bethel Church Redding and Joseph Prince, you might also like Phil Drysdale’s podcast as well.

  6. Great episode, Ray!

1st – thanks for taking my question, I appreciate your insight.

2nd – what an amazing list of resources! I’ve got much more listening to do – thank you for creating such useful & quality rich content.

  7. My goodness, Brian was resonating with me today! Awesome! Also, great list of podcasts. I now have new ones to check out.

  8. I loved this podcast today. Brian was an especially powerful segment. I’ll be looking up his podcast.

I noticed there were only 2 women on your list. (Amy and Jayme). Probably because there aren’t that many women doing business-related podcasts? I just started mine after being inspired by you and Cliff at the Platform Conference. (And taking Cliff’s class.) It’s titled “Encouraging Words for Working Moms with Christy Largent”, but I think it’s interesting for men too. 🙂 Thankfully, it’s being well received in the kids and family section.

I loved your list of podcasts – and add Kevin Leman’s “Have a New Kid by Friday” because that’s where I am in life, along with Glamazon with Ali Brown. She’s really fun and has interesting interviews.

Just my two cents this week. Keep up the great work! YOUR show is on my “always listen to” list. 🙂

    • Thank you Christy, and you’re right about the imbalance of men to women. Now I’m going to be more intentional about adding some more female voices to my list! I’ll start by checking out your show. I’m not a working mom… but I bet I’ll still learn something!

  9. Ray – thanks so much for the shout out about my 48 Days Podcast – I’m honored to be on your list.

The interview with Brian was powerful. He is brilliant and so articulate. Very deep stuff and I hope it resonated with a lot of your listeners.

  10. Ray,
I was excited to know that several of the podcasts that are on your list are also on mine. I’m planning to add Dane’s show to my list as well.

One that I JUST added to my list is “Fire on Your Head” with Steve Bremner, who is a missionary to Peru. His most recent episode was a discussion of “Grace v. Law.” Parts of it really reminded me of your discussion with Frank Viola.

    Thanks so much!

  11. Thanks for the shout-out, Ray. Honored. btw/ you inspired me to do something different for my 100th episode, which is right around the corner. So it will be something never before attempted in podcastdom nor the podcastophere. 😉 Listener discretion is advised.

  12. I personally love a few that you mentioned, Ray. Jeff Goins, Michael Hyatt, Read to Lead are some of my favorites. But, I have to say that your podcast and the Andy Andrews podcasts are the two that I most look forward to listening to every week. You are both so inspirational and uplifting! Keep up the great content!

  13. Great list Ray!. Just added Dane Sanders’ Converge to my playlist; unique style. Joel Comm is excellent as well, just waiting for a recent episode from Joel. Checking out Frank Viola soon. Thanks brother.

  14. Ray, thanks for curating this personal list! Very helpful to get in the fast lane on shaping a personal list. I listened to ‘Read to Lead’ on a walk this evening — specifically episode #46 on doodling and thinking differently with Sunni Brown. Fascinating stuff! I may look into her book. Thanks again!

  15. What a great and comprehensive list Ray – did not know Tim Ferriss was podcasting now, shall add to my list! As an update, #18 – Rise to the Top with David Siteman Garland – he is no longer podcasting 🙁

  16. Just ran into your interview with Michael Hyatt and decided to check out your show. I write for kids, not copy, so at first I wasn’t sure how it would go.
Anyone who so openly discusses JESUS (not just religion, church, or even God) is someone I want to hear from.
Now, I’m finding just how many topics you cover and am thrilled. I don’t have time to search out the best info sources for myself, so finding your list of best podcasts is a huge blessing. I already spend too much time staring at a screen, but there’s always laundry, dishes, quiet time before sleep, and other MP3 moments to tuck learning into.
    Thank you so much!
    God bless. 🙂
PS, I’m thinking of starting a podcast of my own, those shows are going to be extra helpful.
